Studio Vallbo is a design studio based in Stockholm with focus on experimental design. The studio is run by Erik Vallbo (b. 1980) with a BFA and MFA in industrial design from Konstfack University College of Arts, Craft and Design, Stockholm. Movement, transformation and chance is something that fascinates and is often a driving force in the process.
Studio Vallbo balances somewhere between art and design, projects are conducted with artistic research and an experimental and playful process that tends to open up for the unexpected and unseen. Studio Vallbo works exploratory and interdisciplinary to find ways to combine craftsmanship with production processes. This way of working gives every object unique traces from the hand.
Projects can be experimental, conceptual or commercial but always with the intention to create uniqueness. Studio Vallbo mainly works with studio production, small scale series, limited editions and site-specific commissions.
