I have explored how design can awaken our senses to the natural world, design that inspires us to reimagine and rethink our relationship to rainwater. This is an object that come to life when it’s raining.
Rainwaves is a modular sound sculpture that gives shelter and enhances the sound of rain. I want to give back the role as conductor to nature with this work, an uncontrolled sound performance by rain.
One module consists of 25 raindrums that play different tones when rained upon, it can be attached to other modules and create a big variety of forms depending on where it is situated. When rained upon it also collects and give the water direction as a water stair case.
