TRACES OF FIRE / 2023

Dynamic and repetitive traces from the past.

TRACES OF FIRE is a public artwork and a continuation of my research in the matchbox etiquette archive at Tändsticksmuseet in Jönköping. The tunnel gave me more freedom and a bigger canvas to play with compared to the previous project Traces in Motion. The artwork transformed the dull and dark tunnel into a sacred passage where ones attention is lifted upwards. The architectural framework of the project is inspired by the brick buildings in the area with its extended brick lines and craftsmanship. Each "window" is it's own thing, a glimpse into the past, reworked for the future.
