Toothpicks 

 

My exploration series is about about looking at a material or a technique in a different light. How do we usually use it, can it be used in a different way? 

If so, how is it perceived in it’s new context and does it get new affordances?

 

This project was about finding new ways to work with an everyday object and try to give it more value. Toothpicks is something we use for a brief second and then thrown away. Toothpicks are hard, thin and sharp. I wanted to sculpt a something that expressed a movement and felt organic.
